Drainage & Water
Management Solutions
Protect your home foundation, driveway, and lawn from water damage. Gravel Express LLC designs and installs custom drainage systems, French drains, and culverts across Southwest Tennessee. We redirect surface and subsurface water safely, permanently solving your erosion and standing water issues.
Engineered Drainage Systems
Every property has unique topography and water flow. We diagnose the root cause of your drainage issues and install heavy-duty, engineered solutions designed to handle heavy Tennessee downpours.
French Drain Installation
We excavate and install professional French drains—trenching deep, lining with geotextile fabric, laying perforated pipe, backfilling with clean washed river rock, and folding the fabric over to prevent dirt from clogging the system. This captures and channels subsurface water away from foundations and low spots.
Driveway Culvert Installation
Ensure water in roadside ditches flows freely under your driveway entrance. We calculate the required water capacity, excavate the ditch, install heavy-duty steel or double-wall HDPE plastic culverts, backfill with compactable material, and grade the entrance.
Catch Basins & Surface Drains
For areas where water pools on lawns or patios, we install heavy-duty plastic or concrete catch basins. These collect surface water quickly and channel it through solid underground piping to a safe discharge point.
Earthen Swales & Ditches
We shape and grade natural, grass-lined swales or rip-rap stone ditches to slow down rushing rainwater and guide it safely away from home foundations, driveways, and septic fields.
Foundation & Crawl Space Waterproofing
Protect your home's structural integrity. We excavate around foundations, apply waterproof membranes, and install footer drains (exterior French drains) to keep crawl spaces and basements completely dry.
Downspout Underground Piping
Gutters dumping water right next to foundations cause wet crawl spaces and settling. We pipe your gutter downspouts underground, running them far away from your home to pop-up emitters or natural drainage points.
Our On-Site Drainage Projects
Take a look at how our experienced crew installs heavy-duty stone-armored ditches and deep foundation French drains to route water safely.

Rip-Rap Stone Swale Construction
Installing heavy-duty rip-rap limestone rock along a freshly graded hillside ditch. This armoring prevents high-velocity stormwater from eroding the driveway base.

Finished River Rock Drainage
A finished, beautifully integrated washed river rock dry creek swale that captures sheet water runoff from the lawn and routes it safely around the property.

Subsurface Trenching & Piping
Laying heavy-duty solid-wall PVC pipe in a clean gravel-lined trench, ensuring perfect downhill slope alignment to keep foundations dry.
Water Is the Most Destructive Force
Left unchecked, standing water and poor grading can destroy concrete foundations, rot wooden crawl spaces, erode expensive landscaping, and turn beautiful lawns into unusable mud pits.
Protects Foundations
Standing water softens soil and causes foundation settling, cracking, and wet crawl spaces. Proper drainage keeps the soil around your foundation dry and stable.
Eliminates Standing Water
Say goodbye to soggy lawns, muddy dog paws, and mosquito breeding grounds. Our systems quickly drain low spots so you can enjoy your yard.
Prevents Soil Erosion
Rushing stormwater washes away topsoil, landscapes, and gravel driveways. We slow down and channel water safely to prevent expensive erosion damage.
Questions About Water Control
Have questions about French drains, PVC piping, or crawl space waterproofing? Read our FAQs or call us for a custom site evaluation.
Call 731-607-9558A French drain is a subsurface trench filled with gravel and a perforated pipe. Subsurface water naturally flows into the gravel-filled trench, filters through a geotextile fabric, enters the holes in the pipe, and flows downhill to a safe discharge point, keeping the surrounding soil dry.
We strictly use solid, smooth-wall PVC or double-wall HDPE pipe for downspout extensions and drainage systems. We avoid thin, corrugated black plastic pipe because it easily crushes, clogs with tree roots, and cannot be cleaned out with a sewer camera or snake.
Yes, in many cases, wet crawl spaces are caused by roof water dumping next to the foundation or surface water sloping toward the house. Installing underground downspout extensions and a foundation footer drain (exterior French drain) stops water from entering the crawl space in the first place.
